Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 6, 2026
Welcome to MediRemind (“we,” “our,” or “us”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is handled in a safe and responsible manner. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected when you use the MediRemind mobile application (the “App”).
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
1. Information Collection and Use
Our primary goal is to provide a reliable and convenient medication reminder experience. The App uses local device storage and selected third-party services to provide its features, improve performance, support subscriptions, and display advertisements.
Local Data Storage — Medication and Health Data
Your privacy is important to us. Medication schedules, medication names, dosage information, reminder settings, medication histories, notes, and other health-related information that you enter into the App are stored locally on your device.
We do not intentionally transmit, collect, harvest, or store this personal health information on our own servers.
Your medication and health information remains on your device unless you explicitly choose to export, share, or otherwise transfer it using functionality provided by the App or your device.
If you choose to share or export your information, the information may be processed by the application, platform, cloud service, messaging service, or other destination that you select. Such services are governed by their own privacy policies.
Non-Personal and Usage Information
We and our third-party service providers may automatically collect certain technical and usage information when you use the App. This may include:
- Device type and operating system version
- App version and language
- Advertising or device identifiers, where applicable
- General app usage information
- Diagnostic and performance information
- Crash reports and error information
- Information about interactions with App features
This information is used primarily to operate, maintain, analyze, secure, and improve the App.
We do not use these services to intentionally upload or store the medication and health records that you enter into the App.
2. Third-Party Services
MediRemind uses trusted third-party service providers to support advertising, analytics, crash reporting, notifications, and subscription management.
Google Mobile Ads (AdMob)
We use Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to display advertisements in the free version of MediRemind.
AdMob may collect and process information such as advertising identifiers, device information, approximate location information, and usage information for advertising, measurement, fraud prevention, and related purposes.
Depending on your device settings, location, and applicable laws, advertisements may be personalized or non-personalized.
Firebase Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to understand general App usage and improve the App’s features and user experience.
Analytics information may include events such as features used, session information, app version, device information, and general interaction data.
Firebase Crashlytics
We use Firebase Crashlytics to identify crashes, errors, and technical problems and to improve the stability and reliability of the App.
Crash reports may include technical diagnostic information such as device information, operating system information, App version, and crash stack traces.
Firebase Cloud Messaging
We may use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to support push notifications and other notification-related functionality.
FCM may process technical information necessary to deliver notifications to your device. Medication reminder information generated and scheduled locally by the App remains on your device.
RevenueCat
We use RevenueCat to manage and validate Premium subscriptions and in-app purchases.
RevenueCat may process information necessary to identify purchases, subscriptions, and entitlement status.
Payments are processed by the applicable app store, such as Google Play or the Apple App Store. We do not directly collect or store your credit card number, bank account information, or other payment card details.
For more information about how these providers handle information, please review their respective policies:
3. Advertising and Your Choices
The free version of MediRemind may display advertisements provided by Google AdMob.
Advertising providers may use advertising IDs and other technical information to provide, measure, and improve advertising, subject to your device settings and applicable laws.
Personalized Advertising
Depending on your location and applicable requirements, you may be asked to provide consent before personalized advertising is used.
You can also manage advertising and tracking preferences through your Android or iOS privacy settings.
On Android devices, available advertising controls may be found under settings related to Google services, Ads, or Privacy. The exact location and wording may vary depending on your Android version and device manufacturer.
Premium users may receive an ad-free experience if ad removal is included with their Premium subscription.
4. Device Permissions
MediRemind may request certain device permissions to provide its medication reminder functionality.
Notifications
Notification permission is used to send medication reminders and other notifications that you have enabled.
Exact Alarms
Where supported and required by the Android operating system, MediRemind may request permission to schedule exact alarms so medication reminders can occur at the intended time.
Full-Screen Notifications or Intents
Where supported and appropriate, MediRemind may use full-screen notification functionality for medication reminders that require prominent notification behavior, subject to Android’s permission and platform requirements.
Battery and Background Operation
Some Android devices may restrict background activity or alarm delivery to conserve battery. MediRemind may provide instructions or request appropriate system settings to help ensure medication reminders are delivered reliably.
We use these permissions only for the functionality for which they are requested. You can manage or revoke applicable permissions through your device settings, although disabling certain permissions may prevent related App features from functioning correctly.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information processed through the App and our services.
Your medication and health information is designed to remain stored locally on your device. The security of this information therefore also depends on the security of your device.
We recommend protecting your device with:
- A strong passcode or password
- Biometric authentication, where available
- Device encryption
- Current operating system and security updates
Information transmitted to applicable third-party service providers may be protected using appropriate security measures, such as encrypted network connections.
However, no method of electronic transmission, storage, or processing can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have privacy rights under applicable laws, including the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other applicable privacy regulations.
Depending on applicable law, these rights may include:
- The right to know what information is collected or processed.
- The right to access personal information.
- The right to request correction of inaccurate information.
- The right to request deletion of certain personal information.
- The right to object to or restrict certain processing.
- The right to opt out of certain advertising or tracking activities.
- The right to data portability, where applicable.
- The right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
Locally Stored Medication and Health Data
Because your medication and health information is designed to be stored locally on your device rather than on our servers, we generally cannot access, retrieve, modify, or delete those records on your behalf.
You can manage your locally stored information through the App or your device settings. Depending on your device, you may delete locally stored App data by clearing the App’s storage or uninstalling the App.
If you export or share your information, you are responsible for managing any copies created outside the App.
For privacy requests relating to information that we or our third-party service providers may process, you can contact us using the information provided in the Contact Us section.
7. Children’s Privacy
MediRemind is not intended for children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information through the App, please contact us.
If we become aware that we have knowingly collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete such information where required by applicable law.
If applicable law establishes a higher minimum age for processing personal information without parental consent, that higher age will apply.
8. Data Retention
Medication and health information entered into MediRemind is designed to remain stored locally on your device. We do not maintain those health records on our own servers.
Technical, analytics, crash, advertising, and subscription-related information may be retained by us or our third-party service providers for periods reasonably necessary to provide services, improve the App, maintain security, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and comply with applicable legal obligations.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the third-party service involved.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, our services, third-party providers, or applicable legal requirements.
When we make changes, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to remain informed about how we handle information.
Your continued use of the App after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy to the extent permitted by applicable law.
